the.asia.guide is an independent travel publication built by full-time travellers who've spent years on the ground across the continent — from Bangkok's backstreets to Hokkaido's onsens.

We started this because most Asia travel content online is the same: shallow listicles stuffed with affiliate links, no real point of view. We're trying to make the opposite — long, useful, beautiful guides that respect your time and budget.

Everything you read here comes from places we've actually been. We pay for our own flights, food and hotels. When we recommend something, it's because we'd send a friend.
